Alabama tight end has officially transferred to Boston College, as reported Tuesday afternoon. A former 4-star recruit from Thompson’s Station, TN, will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025. Standing at 6’5”, Lockwood reunites with former Alabama teammate and quarterback Dylan Lonergan, who also recently transferred to Boston College. Lonergan had hinted at Lockwood’s transfer on social media, highlighting the duo’s strong connection. Together, they join Bill O’Brien’s staff in an effort to revamp the Eagles’ passing offense.
Lockwood saw limited playing time at Alabama, appearing in seven games over two seasons and recording just one reception for five yards against Mercer. However, his high school scouting profile showcased his potential as both a skilled blocking tight end and a reliable pass catcher. At Boston College, he’s expected to contribute as a dependable option in the short and intermediate passing game, similar to former Eagles tight end Hunter Long.
