The course that the New York Jets take with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft will be heavily influenced by the six clubs ahead of them. By the time the Jets get their opportunity, the best player available may be a terrific wide receiver. The question is whether they will need him.
Jets could draft a top wide receiver in 2025 despite their depth
According to Steve Serby of the New York Post, New York should draft Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan with the seventh pick in his Mock Draft 1.0.
“A 6-5, 212-pound Drake London comp who would complement Garrett Wilson for whomever lines up behind center,” Serby had written.

Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams, the Jets’ two 1,000-yard receivers from last season, are now on the outside. It couldn’t get much better for New York in terms of pass-catching, but despite Adams’ contract extension until 2026, there’s no guarantee he’ll see it through.
New York could then choose McMillan and hope that he reaches his potential as a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver for Gang Green. The Hawaii native is a captivating receiver who racked up 1,319 receiving yards for the Wildcats during his junior season. He has a strong burst of speed in the open field and is skilled at dodging tackles and creating space. He possesses the complete package for the post.
Jets could also address other positions if they forego a WR
If Adams remains in New York, the Jets may aim to strengthen other areas of need, such as their offensive or defensive lines. Serby’s other picks following McMillan included LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell and Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou.
