Boston bolstered its pitching staff by trading for White Sox ace Garrett Crochet and signing Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler. The team didn’t stop there—during free agency, they landed Astros slugger Alex Bregman. With these key additions, the Red Sox are aiming for a strong postseason push, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone has taken notice.
“I think we started to see an athletic group emerge last year. They really improved their pitching, and they’ve only strengthened it this year,” Boone told Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe. “Adding Alex Bregman recently, they look like a really formidable team. Our division is always tough, and I certainly feel that way now. You can make a case for all five teams.”
It’s clear the Yankees won’t underestimate the Red Sox this season. With both teams making significant improvements, this year’s playoff race could be one to remember.
