Along with new veteran defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, the Colts are adding linebackers coach James Bettcher, defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, and pass game coordinator/secondary coach Chris Hewitt to their staff.

These hires had already been reported by national media, though Henderson’s exact role was not previously confirmed. However, it was widely speculated that he would take on the defensive backs coach position, given the Colts’ remaining vacancy and his extensive experience coaching that role at the professional level.

Meanwhile, some members of former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley’s staff, including defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and assistant linebackers coach Cato June, are expected to remain under Anarumo for the 2025 season.

This revamped coaching staff will be responsible for improving a Colts defense that struggled last season, ranking 24th in total points allowed (25.1 points per game).
