JUST IN: Jubilation As Alabama Track Wins Two Medals On Opening Day of SEC Indoor Championships 2025

Alabama’s track and field team kicked off the 2025 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships by securing 15 points for the UA men’s team in a single event.

The Crimson Tide’s distance runners, Dismus Lokira (13:40.40) and Victor Kiprop (13:41.44), claimed Alabama’s first medals of the competition, earning silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s 5,000-meter race.

Teammate Dennis Kipruto secured eighth place with a time of 13:52.66, giving Alabama three top-eight finishers in the event and contributing to a total of 15 points.

Dismus Lokira (22:41.88) led the  Crimson Tide sweep of 🥇🥈🥉 to close out action at the Sean Earl Lakefront  Invitational! #RollTide The men’s team added four more points from the distance medley relay, where Jackson Harris, Peter Diebold, John O’Donnell, and Arthur Graham clocked a season-best 9:35.94 to place fifth.

On the women’s side, Miracle Ailes set a personal best with a score of 4,033 in the pentathlon, earning fifth place. Brenda Tuwei (15:15.53) in the 5,000-meter race and Caelyn Harris (6.25m | 20-6.25) in the long jump both secured seventh-place finishes in their respective events.

At the end of the first day in College Station, the UA men’s team stands in fourth place with 19 points, while the women’s team is tied for eighth with eight points.
