GOOD NEWS: Georgia Labeled “Program To Beat” For No. 1 Player In The Country

Jared Curtis is a familiar name to Georgia football fans. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 2 overall prospect in the nation and the top quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. Although he was previously committed to Georgia, he withdrew his pledge last year. However, his interest in Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs remains strong.

Recommitting to Georgia is never an easy decision for a recruit, but it’s not out of the question. In fact, one recruiting expert believes that Curtis may be leaning toward giving the Bulldogs a second commitment.

Where is Jared Curtis leaning?

Curtis’ recruitment has been a whirlwind, with plenty of twists and turns. After initially committing to Georgia, he later withdrew his pledge and explored interest in several other programs, making it difficult to gauge where the Bulldogs currently stand.

However, Rivals recruiting expert Sam Spiegelman recently provided insight into the situation, stating:
“Curtis has strong ties connecting him to Georgia, which remains the program to beat in this recruitment.”

Spiegelman also highlighted Oregon as a team that has gained significant momentum, along with Alabama, Auburn, and South Carolina, all of which will host Curtis for official visits this summer. Still, his confidence in Georgia as the frontrunner is a notable development.

That said, just a week ago, On3 reported that Oregon was leading the race for Curtis. While things may have shifted since then, this adds some uncertainty to the situation. One thing remains clear—Georgia is firmly in contention, with some experts even viewing them as the current favorite.
