We communicate with each other. The most important thing is that we win. That’s where I stand.” The issue has gained traction because some believe Devers’ reluctance to move to DH—where he would still be highly effective—could be a defensive liability for the team.
The Red Sox have yet to finalize their defensive alignment, but the likely approach is to start Devers at third base and evaluate his performance over the first month before making any adjustments.
