Barcelona is reportedly set to block any potential transfer dealings with La Liga rivals Sevilla during the current transfer window.
According to Diario Sport, tensions between the two clubs have reached a boiling point, with relations now described as “absolutely broken.”
The strained relationship dates back to Sevilla’s stance against Barcelona during the ongoing ‘Negreira Case,’ which has cast scrutiny on the Catalan club. More recently, Sevilla intensified their opposition by being a vocal critic of Barcelona’s attempts to register summer signing Dani Olmo for the rest of the season, further aggravating the situation.
One direct consequence of this rift involves Sevilla’s interest in securing Barcelona forward Ansu Fati on loan until the summer. However, Barcelona has reportedly decided to veto any potential deal with Sevilla, signaling a firm response to the ongoing tensions between the two clubs.
