The Ohio State Buckeyes are bringing in a former Penn State player to join their coaching staff amid significant offseason changes to their national championship team. Wendy Laurent, a former Nittany Lions offensive lineman who has been coaching in the Ivy League, is set to join Ohio State as an analyst, according to college football insider Matt Zenitz.

“Ohio State is also expected to hire Wendy Laurent as an analyst, sources tell [CBS Sports] and [247 Sports],” Zenitz shared in a post on X on Wednesday, Feb. 19. “The former Penn State lineman, who once blocked for Saquon Barkley, has served as the associate head coach and tight ends coach at Dartmouth. He previously worked at Penn State as a graduate assistant in 2020 and 2021.”

On Wednesday, the Buckeyes also brought in two former offensive line coaches as analysts. Ohio State added Marcus Johnson, who previously coached at Mississippi State, Missouri, and Purdue, along with Charlie Dickey, who has experience at Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Utah.
Meanwhile, Penn State lured away former OSU defensive coordinator Jim Knowles this offseason, while the Las Vegas Raiders hired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Both Knowles and Kelly departed for significantly higher salaries at their new positions in 2025.
