Former Florida Football standout Jason Marshall’s path to the NFL Combine was anything but easy. Initially projected as a potential first-round pick heading into 2023, a disappointing season prompted his return for the 2024 campaign.
Marshall began rebuilding his draft stock and once again looked like a first-round contender before a season-ending shoulder injury cut his year short.
Now fully recovered, Marshall showcased his skills at the Combine. While he may not climb back into the first-round conversation, he made a strong enough impression to potentially earn a selection in the second or third round.
Florida Football: I believe I can fly
In our Combine preview, we highlighted Marshall’s physicality as his defining trait. In 2024, once he embraced contact, he flipped a switch and played like a true lockdown corner in the SEC.
His 4.49-second 40-yard dash wasn’t elite, but it was solid enough to avoid concerns. Where he truly excelled was the vertical jump, ranking third among all defensive backs with an impressive 37.5-inch leap.
According to Kent Lee Platte of RAS, Marshall’s Combine performance places him as the 239th best defensive back prospect out of 2,480 since 1987.

Before the Combine, most mock drafts projected Marshall to be selected in the 5th or 6th round. While his performance in Indianapolis may not propel him into Day 2, it should solidify his standing as an early Day 3 pick with a strong chance to make an NFL roster by September.
The NFL Draft will take place from April 24 to April 26, with Green Bay hosting the event. The Gators have nine players participating in the NFL Combine, all hoping to hear their names called in April.
