The Georgia Bulldogs have fallen behind in recruiting for the 2026 class, but they are poised to gain momentum with the potential addition of a top in-state prospect. With only five commitments so far—including four four-star recruits—Georgia’s 2026 class currently ranks 16th according to On3. However, they are expected to strengthen their roster with another four-star talent.
Tyriq Green, a standout from Buford, GA, has drawn national attention as one of the most versatile playmakers in the 2026 class. Excelling at both running back and safety, he has received offers from numerous programs across the country. Despite this competition, Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman believes Georgia is in prime position to secure his commitment.
Spiegelman recently wrote, “Green is one of the most prolific skill-position prospects in the country out of Peach State powerhouse Buford (Ga.) High. USC, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn, and Georgia are all pursuing Green, who returned to Athens earlier this month.
The Dawgs are in striking distance with the in-state four-star recruit as a decision inches closer. My prediction is on Georgia to win out here.”
Ranked as the seventh-best athlete in the 2026 class and the 19th-ranked player in Georgia by On3, the primary challenge for the Bulldogs will be determining his position. However, head coach Kirby Smart and his staff will be thrilled to have that dilemma once Green officially joins their program.
