BREAKING: Colts Owner Comment On Ryan Kelly Departure Sends Shockwaves To Fans And NFL World.

However, on Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings announced they had signed Kelly as a free agent.

“It’s been an honor to watch Ryan represent the Horseshoe,” Irsay wrote on social media, emphasizing that Kelly would always remain part of the Colts family. He noted that Kelly was the franchise’s only first-round pick at center and developed into an All-Pro and Pro Bowl player over his nine seasons. Beyond his on-field contributions, Irsay praised Kelly and his wife, Emma, for their advocacy work, particularly with Count the Kicks and Concerns of Police Survivors. He commended their strength and resilience, saying they had been an inspiration to many.

The Kellys experienced a personal tragedy in 2021 when they lost their daughter, Mary Kate, to a miscarriage. They later channeled their grief into raising awareness for prenatal health care.

Kelly also shared a farewell message on social media, expressing gratitude for his time in Indianapolis.

“Thank you, Indy,” he wrote. “Nine years of memories with people and players I’ll forever call family. I loved every year I got to play in this city and for this organization. Forever a special place in mine and my family’s heart.”

Kelly’s contract with the Vikings is a two-year deal worth $18 million, with $9 million guaranteed.
