After a week of devastating fires across Los Angeles County, including significant damage in areas like Altadena and Pacific Palisades, Dodgers players and the team have organized efforts to support relief initiatives.
Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, are contributing $300,000, with equal amounts going to the LA Fire Department Foundation, the Pasadena Fire Department, and the Salvation Army, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
The Dodgers, alongside other Los Angeles sports teams, have partnered with Fanatics to launch “LA Strong” merchandise. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the LA Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross.

In a Friday statement, the Dodgers expressed their sorrow over the destruction caused by the fires: “The players, front office, and staff of the Dodgers are absolutely heartbroken over the devastation of the fires in and around Los Angeles. We are working closely with community partners and impacted areas and look forward to announcing more about our immediate efforts and our ongoing work in the coming days. We are grateful to all first responders who have been on the front lines of this tragedy, and we grieve with the thousands of families who have lost their homes and possessions, including those within the Dodgers organization.”
Additionally, the Chris Taylor Foundation pledged to match fire relief donations up to $5,000 this week. In an Instagram story, the foundation shared that they are considering updates to the beneficiaries of their upcoming CT3 Polar Plunge on February 2, aiming to raise even more funds.
