BREAKING NEWS: 49ers Insider Shades Team After Trade With Vikings Sends Big Shockwaves To Fans AND NFL World.

On Saturday evening, the San Francisco 49ers struck a trade with the Minnesota Vikings, sending running back Jordan Mason to Minnesota. Mason, who excelled in relief of an injured Christian McCaffrey during the 2024 season, will now join the Vikings.

As part of the deal, the 49ers traded Mason along with the No. 187 pick in the 2025 draft in exchange for the No. 160 pick in this year’s draft and a 2026 sixth-round selection.

With McCaffrey limited to just four games in 2024, Mason stepped up and played a key role in San Francisco’s offense, delivering strong performances in an expanded role. Given his success, not everyone is pleased with the move.

49ers insider Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard voiced his frustration on X, expressing confusion over the decision:

“No, I can’t explain the logic, but I stopped being able to do that about four moves ago,” he wrote.

During the 2024 season, Jordan Mason appeared in 12 games, recording 153 carries for 789 yards and three touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game, hauling in 11 receptions for 91 yards.

At just 25 years old, Mason still has plenty of upside and room to grow. By trading him, San Francisco is taking a bit of a gamble, especially given Christian McCaffrey’s injury history. In 2024 alone, McCaffrey dealt with Achilles and knee issues, raising concerns about his durability moving forward.

With Mason gone, Isaac Guerendo is expected to serve as the team’s primary backup, but Mason provided additional depth and security at the position.
