The Philadelphia Phillies reached one-year agreements with two more players on Thursday, avoiding arbitration and bringing their total arbitration-eligible players signed to one-year deals to six.
Third baseman Alec Bohm agreed to a $7.7 million deal, while utility infielder Edmundo Sosa will earn $3 million, according to MLB.com. Last year, Bohm went to arbitration and won, earning $4 million. This year, he and the Phillies avoided a hearing, settling slightly below his projected $8.1 million salary from MLB Trade Rumors.
Bohm, who made the All-Star team and participated in the Home Run Derby last season, posted similar numbers to his 2023 campaign. He slashed .280/.332/.448/.779 with 15 home runs and 97 RBIs in 2024, following his career highs of 20 home runs and 97 RBIs in 2023.
Sosa, a versatile utility player who joined the Phillies in 2022, continued to provide value off the bench. In 90 games last season, he slashed .257/.313/.422/.734 with seven home runs and a career-high 31 RBIs.
The Phillies also announced agreements with Ranger Suárez ($8.8 million), Jesús Luzardo ($6.225 million), Bryson Stott ($3.2 million), and Brandon Marsh ($3 million). These deals ensure the team has signed all arbitration-eligible players ahead of spring training.
With camp set to begin next month in Clearwater, Florida, the Phillies are preparing for another postseason push under manager Rob Thomson.
