The collegiate football season is coming to a conclusion, as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish face the Ohio State Buckeyes in the National Championship. With that comes the NFL Combine and draft season. Here are five NFL Draft prospects to keep an eye on for the College National Championship.

As seen the previous week against Texas, where Sawyer scored the game-winning strip-sack touchdown to send Ohio State to the Natty. In 2024, Sawyer has 9 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and recoveries, and 1 interception. He also has 56 total tackles and 6 passes defended. Sawyer has exceptional talent, and I could see him falling into the first round and rising up many draft boards. He is a fantastic player who would be an excellent addition to any squad in need of an edge defender.
S Xavier Watts, Notre Dame
Watts has been a standout safety in college football this season. On tape, he looks outstanding and has already established himself as one of the draft’s elite players. This season, Watts has 66 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, and 9 passes defensed. Watts is a player with a high IQ who wants to be involved in every play. He allows his instincts to take over on every play, and he has a significant impact in practically every game. Watts will be taken on Day 2, and he will be an excellent player for whoever chooses him.
EDGE J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State
J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State’s counterpart to Sawyer, provides another elite advantage. J.T. is an exceptional edge rusher whose presence will make offensive coordinators nervous. 2024 is by far his best season, with 11.5 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, and 56 total tackles. He, like Jack Sawyer, made a significant effect against Texas. Tuimoloau finished the game with 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 7 total tackles. He expects to start on Day 2 and will have a significant impact on whatever team he is on.
LB Jack Kiser, Notre Dame
Jack Kiser, a driving force and one of the Notre Dame team’s leaders, is a name to remember. While he is not a terrific pass coverage backer and is not particularly fluid in the run game, Kiser will put his body on the line and work extremely hard on every play. He is an excellent tackler and might develop into a terrific backup linebacker/special teams guy. He is highly physical, and as a Day 3 choice, Kiser could be a valuable special teams player for any team.
RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
A big play threat at all times, Henderson will be a big threat for Ohio State against Notre Dame. And even more than that, Henderson could be an elite playmaker for any team that selects him in this upcoming draft. This is one of the most loaded draft classes for running backs in recent history, but Henderson is going to be one at the top of the class. Coming off of a solid senior season, Henderson posted 967 yards, with 10 touchdowns, and another 284 yards through the air, with a score. Henderson could be a good back in the NFL, and he seems destined to be a big play threat whenever he touches the ball.
