Despite high hopes for their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Beal, the team has fallen short of expectations, pushing them toward potential drastic changes.
The Suns have already made moves, such as acquiring Nick Richards from the Charlotte Hornets and exchanging their 2031 first-round pick for three first-round picks from the Utah Jazz. However, they are reportedly targeting Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler to bolster their roster. To land Butler, the Suns would likely need to move Beal due to his large contract, but doing so presents challenges. Beal has a no-trade clause he would need to waive, and few teams are eager to absorb his hefty deal.
Although the Milwaukee Bucks were rumored to be interested in Beal, NBA insider Chris Haynes debunked that speculation, stating, “The Milwaukee Bucks have not inquired about Phoenix Suns’ star Bradley Beal.” With the Bucks out of the picture, the Suns must seek another trade partner willing to take on Beal’s contract. While there are potential suitors, Phoenix may need to include substantial draft capital to facilitate a deal.
