Four-time All-Star closer Kenley Jansen enters the 2025 MLB season ranked fourth on the all-time saves list. With 447 career saves, he is just 32 away from surpassing Hall of Famer Lee Smith for third place. Jansen spent the first 12 years of his MLB career with the Los Angeles Dodgers before joining the Atlanta Braves in 2022 and then spending the past two seasons with the Boston Red Sox. An All-Star in 2023, he continued his strong performance in 2024, finishing his Red Sox stint with a 3.44 ERA and 114 strikeouts over 105 bullpen appearances.
On February 11, ESPN reported that Jansen had agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels officially confirmed the signing on Saturday.
“OFFICIAL: The Angels have agreed to one-year contracts with RHP Kenley Jansen and INF Yoán Moncada,” the team announced on X.
